Travelling to Epidaurus? Book a private transfer to the ancient sanctuary of Asclepius — best known for its 4th-century BC theatre with mathematically perfect acoustics (a coin dropped on the stage is audible from the back row, and your driver will demonstrate if you ask).
The drive from Athens to Epidaurus is 1h 50m via the A8 and the new Argolid corridor, 165 km. From Nafplio it's a short 30-minute hop east. From Athens International Airport, 2h 05m. Most Luxi bookings reach Epidaurus as part of the "Argolid loop" day-trip with Mycenae and Nafplio, but it also stands alone as a half-day visit if you're staying in Nafplio.
The site itself is more than just the theatre — there are temple ruins, a stadium, a museum with surgical instruments from the original Asclepian healing centre, and a small Hellenistic concert venue. Budget 90 minutes for the visit. The summer Epidaurus Festival (July–August) holds ancient Greek tragedy productions in the theatre itself; performances start at 21:00, drivers can wait or do an evening pickup.
