1. Our commitment
Luxi is committed to making luxi.gr accessible to as wide an audience as possible, including travellers with visual, motor, hearing or cognitive disabilities. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across all public-facing pages.
2. Current conformance status
Most public pages on luxi.gr conform to WCAG 2.1 AA with the known limitations listed in section 4. We do not yet claim AAA conformance.
Last audit: May 2026, by our internal team using a combination of automated tools (axe DevTools, Lighthouse) and manual testing with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver).
3. Accessibility features implemented
- Semantic HTML structure — correct heading hierarchy, landmarks (header, main, footer, nav), lists, tables with headers.
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements reachable and operable via keyboard alone. Visible focus indicators throughout.
- Skip links on every page to skip directly to main content (TBD: not yet implemented site-wide; see section 4).
- ARIA attributes — aria-label, aria-labelledby, aria-expanded, aria-modal applied where semantic HTML alone is insufficient (modals, accordions, breadcrumbs).
- Image alt text — all content images carry descriptive alt text; decorative images marked aria-hidden.
- Colour contrast — text-to-background contrast ratios meet AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text). Verified by automated and manual testing.
- Responsive design — usable from 320px wide to ultra-wide, including reflow at 400% zoom.
- Form labels — every form input has a programmatically associated label.
- Error identification — validation errors announced and visually associated with the field that produced them.
- Reduced motion — respects prefers-reduced-motion; non-essential animations suppressed.
4. Known limitations
- Skip-to-content link not yet implemented on every page. Workaround: most pages have one section of header navigation; press Tab to skip past it. Fix scheduled for next sprint.
- Embedded video hero on the homepage is decorative (no audio, no narrative information). It carries no captions because it carries no spoken content. Users who prefer no motion can enable prefers-reduced-motion in OS settings.
- Some long-form table layouts on blog posts may require horizontal scroll on viewports under 400px. Tables are wrapped in a horizontally-scrollable container with appropriate ARIA roles.
- Search results dropdown (autocomplete) does not yet meet full ARIA combobox specification; manual fallback selection works without it. Improvement scheduled.
5. Assistive technologies tested
- NVDA 2024.1 on Windows 11 with Firefox and Chrome
- VoiceOver on macOS Sonoma with Safari
- VoiceOver on iOS 17 with Safari
- TalkBack on Android 14 with Chrome
