Travelling to Preveza? Book a private transfer with a verified Greek driver. Preveza is a small Ionian coastal town at the entrance to the Amvrakikos Gulf, on the southern Epirus coast. Most travellers reach it via Preveza-Aktion Airport (PVK), which sits on the opposite side of the channel and connects to the town through an undersea tunnel.

The town itself is unhurried — a Venetian-influenced harbour, several family-run fish tavernas on the seafront, and the archaeological site of ancient Nikopolis 5 km north (founded by Octavian after the naval Battle of Actium in 31 BC). For most visitors, Preveza is a transit point rather than a destination — but it deserves a half-day if you have it.

Most-booked Luxi transfers in the Preveza area: PVK airport direct to Parga (€70–€95 sedan, 1 hour), PVK direct to Lefkada island (€60–€85 sedan, 45 minutes — no ferry needed, Lefkada is connected by causeway), PVK to Ioannina city (€80–€110, 1h 30m), and PVK to Athens (5 hours, €380–€450 — most travellers prefer this route via overnight rather than same-day).

For onward travel, the most popular routes south from Preveza are along the Ionian coast to Lefkada and from there potentially onward to Kefalonia island by ferry. Northbound, the Ionian coast continues to Parga and then to the Albanian border at Igoumenitsa.
